Skylab
SkyLab is a six-piece jazz/funk/fusion group led by New Haven trumpeter, composer, and bandleader Nick Di Maria. Their sound is built around hard-driving funk grooves, jazz melodies, improvisation, and a strong danceable quality, with influences stretching into electronic jazz, neo-soul, post-bop, and jam music. The group has featured trumpet, saxophone, Fender Rhodes/keyboards, guitar, bass, and drums, and has performed throughout Connecticut and beyond. Their 2025 album SKYLAB was recorded at New Haven’s Firehouse 12 and features an expanded lineup of Connecticut jazz musicians.
