Bring your crew and get down!</p><p></p><p><strong>Skylab Funk</strong></p><p></p><p><strong>SkyLab</strong> is a six-piece jazz/funk/fusion group led by New Haven trumpeter, composer, and bandleader <strong>Nick Di Maria</strong>. Their sound is built around hard-driving funk grooves, jazz melodies, improvisation, and a strong danceable quality, with influences stretching into electronic jazz, neo-soul, post-bop, and jam music. The group has featured trumpet, saxophone, Fender Rhodes/keyboards, guitar, bass, and drums, and has performed throughout Connecticut and beyond. Their 2025 album<strong> <em>SKYLAB</em> </strong>was recorded at New Haven’s Firehouse 12 and features an expanded lineup of Connecticut jazz musicians.</p>
