Bartender

The Social Bar & Kitchen is searching for a motivated and positive individual to join our team as a bartender. The successful candidate will play a role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals. To succeed in this role, you will need to have a positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with the staff. Previous bartending experience in a fast-paced environment is greatly desired. Knowledge of craft cocktails and craft beer a major plus. We offer flexible work schedules and competitive pay in one of New London's biggest independently-owned restaurants.

Responsibilities

• •Pour beer & prepare drinks for the entire house, including bar patrons and service bar
• •Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude
• •Enter orders into POS system for transmittal to kitchen staff
• •Engage with customers in a friendly manner
• •Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions
• •Ensure patrons are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
• •Prepare checks & collect payments from tables
• •Assist kitchen and front-of-house staff when necessary
• •Fulfill all necessary cleaning & side work

• •Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
• •A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with cooks, managers and other staff
• •Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised
• •Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
• •Knowledge of craft beer, spirits and/or wine are a plus
