Hoolios For The Holidays with special guest The Carleans (POSTPONED)

This event is postponed. We will announce a make-up date as soon as we confirm one.

The Hoolios return to the Social in the (Saint) Nick of time for the perfect holiday shindig to get your season in high gear.

THE HOOLIOS

The Hoolios are back! After a tentative two years in the world of music, the popular New England band is back on stage. Founding member and songwriter, Jim Carpenter (guitar), is back at the helm with a new cd, sharing the lead vocals with Sarah MacLean (acoustic guitar), and Ronnie Lewis (drums). Other members include: Sandy Allen (mandolin, washboard), Billy Light (slide guitar), and Corina Malbaurn (bass).
Steeped in the rhythms of the Gulf of Mexico: Americana, Latin, Reggae, Texas folk and Zydeco, the seasoned group of musicians have recorded five albums of original music and graced some of the finest stages on the east coast, recently selling out the first two shows of their comeback tour. Bring your dancing shoes!

THE CARLEANS

The Carleans are an acoustic-based trio from Connecticut. It’s members include singer-songwriters Jim Carpenter and Sarah MacLean, and upright bassist, Corina Malbaurn.
Currently recording their fourth album, the CarLeans’ original song-list is as eclectic as their musical style: intimate, emotional ballads ala’ Ricki Lee Jones and Townes Van Zant; humorous, quirky and thought-provoking crowd-pleasers not unlike John Hiatt, Lyle Lovett, and Little Feet; and driving, hypnotic grooves from Carpenter and Malbaurn complimented by Sarah's soulful vocal, inspiring the audience to its feet to dance.

Just off their second 'Southern Tour' this year, the trio has performed throughout the country, sharing the stage with the likes of The Subdudes, Mipso, The Birds of Chicago, Marcia Ball, Hooray For The Riff Raff, Walt Wilkins, Sarah Borges, The Wolff Sisters, and The Preservation Jazz Band . . . in such renowned venues as Daryl’s House CT, Infinity Hall CT, Ossipee Music Fest ME, Kate Hepburn Theater CT, Isis NC, Neutral Ground NOLA, The Southern TX, Skinny Pancake VT, Proclamation FL, The Narrows RI, Eugene O’Neil Theater CT, and Lulu’s AL as well as many others.
