Lecture Topic: Dutton Street "Less Than Ten Seconds"

A near miss story lived by and told by Battalion Chief Steve DesRuisseaux (Manchester, NH)

This round of H&H will be a first-hand account of the Dutton Street fire from 11.06.2021 with an emphasis on firefighter survival, his long journey towards recovery, and the struggle with both the physical and mental effects.

Steve will also provide an insight to lessons learned and discuss what your respective department needs to know when traumatic incidents hit your department.

Battalion Chief Steve DesRuisseaux started his fire service journey in 1992, graduating from the NH Fire Academy Recruit School. Earned his degree from NH Laconia Technical College in 1997 with AAS in Fire Science and was hired with the Manchester NH Fire Department in 1999. Currently Steve is a Battalion Chief running out of the departments headquarters at the Merrimack St Central Firehouse.
